Audiophiles and bass addicts have much to look forward to over the weekend. Zenzi Bandra, is hosting a two-day indoor music festival, Infest, where electronic artistes from Germany will be enthralling clubbers with some groovy house beats. DJs who frequent Bar 25, one of Berlin's most popular nightspots will be taking over the console at the restaurant. Resident DJ and booking agent Sese from Bar 25 and DJ brothers Andi and Hannes Teichmann will be headlining the festival.

Kenneth Lobo from the Indian booking agency, Sound Curry, which is organising Infest, explains how B 25’s artistes always make for a great partying experience. “People often complain about electronic music sounding very monotonous. These artistes, on the other hand, play groovy house beats that aren’t too heavy and make you dance. It’s definitely music for the ladies. We are expecting the dance floor to be full and not just have people standing at the bar,” says Lobo.

Edgy and funky, the Teichmann brothers ride high with the crowd, jumping and raving, mixing genres from minimal to acid to Chicago, techno, rock and house. Lobo, who attended a continuous five-day party at Bar 25, recounts the experience that he is trying to replicate in Mumbai. “There were five days of 45 DJ's playing at a 100-hour long party. I was there for three of those days. The club scene in Germany is brilliant where you are constantly raving to the live spin. There isn't a dull moment, which is quite something,” says Lobo.

Soundcurry is hoping to fill Zenzi's dance floor with a similar vibe and in the future, is planning on hosting more artistes like Jahcoozi, a trio of British, Sri Lankan and Israeli artistes.

“We are trying to bring new sounds to the city. Not necessarily popular talent, but music that is good and deserves a listen,” says Lobo. Infest will also host local artistes DJ Pramz and The Idiots. The latter is an ensmeble of three DJs who came together in London at the turn of the century and now play in Mumbai, San Francisco and London. They are better known as Nishant Lalwani, Rodrigo Davies and Russell Middleton. Time to hit the floor.

Catch DJ Sese, Teichman brothers, The Idiots and DJ Pramz at Infest on February 12 and 13, 9.30 pm onwards at Zenzi, Bandra. Entry free.
