On the lines of Al Gore’sOscar-winning documentary

An Inconvenient Truth

, celebrities in India are nowdoing their bit to create awareness about global warming.



Kunal Kapoor has already shot for a seven-minute documentary on the subject. Hema Malini is scheduled to appear before the camera for this documentary next week. Amitabh Bachcan and Ajay Devgan have also been approached to participate in the effort.



Suresh Oberoi has recorded the voice over for the documentary supported by the UN and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s Art of Living.



The untitled documentary has been conceived and produced by Amit Satam who states, “Global warming is misconstrued as an intellectual issue. By getting celebrities to join our campaign,we hope to spreadwider awareness.”



Adverse effects


Satam elaborates, “We will also be exploring how we, as individuals, can contain the adverse effects of global warming.” The documentary’s theme song has been composed and rendered by Shankar Mahadevan.



None of the celebrities accepted a fee. Efforts are on to involve as many film personalities as possible. After June 15, the film will move into post-production and release by early July.
