Aamir Khan, who will soon be seen in the third instalment of the Dhoom series, wants to work on the sequel of one of his own films. The actor believes that his 1995 film Sarfarosh could potentially have a part two as the original had an open ending. And to push things along, the actor has even spoken to the director John Mathew Matthan about the possibility of doing a sequel.

Confirming the development, Aamir says, “In Sarfarosh, the character continues. I had a word with John and he is writing the script, but it’s too early to speak about it.”

The actor, who tends to sign on for a project only after reading the script, says that this film will not be an exception. He says, “I have to like it (the script) and both of us have to be equally excited about it. Then we can say we are doing it.”

Prod the actor on whether he would produce the film as well, and he says, “If John wants me to produce it and I love the script, then
why not?”

Incidentally, Aamir had even in the past, thought that Andaz Apna Apna (1994) could have a sequel. He had even spoken to director Rajkumar Santoshi about it, but regrets that the project never materialised. “I suggested that Raj write a part two and maybe we could take it forward. But it never happened,” the actor says.

Aamir also does not rule out the possibility of sharing screen space with Salman Khan again in the future, if there is a right script. But would someone be able to afford both of them? He says, “I don’t think money would ever be a hindrance, but the right kind of film has to come along. A film with Salman and me would come with high expectations, so it shouldn’t disappoint the audience. Salman and I will only be concerned about that,” he says.
