He is riding high on the success of his latest hit, Dhoom: 3, but what Abhishek Bachchan is equally excited about is the fact that his superstar parents — Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan — have also loved the film.
A few days ago, he told us that for him, “it’s the greatest compliment” when Big B likes his work. Bachchan Jr also mentioned how his mother had “enjoyed it (the film) immensely.”
But interestingly, Abhishek’s wife Aishwarya is yet to watch the movie. “Aishwarya hasn’t had the opportunity to watch the film yet. I am sure she will (watch it) very soon,” says Abhishek.
The actor, accompanied by daughter Aaradhya, had professional commitments in Dubai in the last week of December. Interestingly, Abhishek informs us that his two-year-old daughter too hasn’t caught the film yet.
Talking about the movie, rumours have been rife about Abhishek getting ‘sidelined’ by the makers. In fact, he was nowhere to be seen at a few initial promotional events.
Do such rumours bother him? “I don’t get upset. I don’t allow people to get to me. Yes, there were one or two functions for which I wasn’t invited. But that’s fine. That was the decision, I guess, Yash Raj (Films, production house) took. And I think this question should be put to them. I don’t have the answer for it,” he says.
The actor, who has been a part of all three instalments of the franchise, adds that it’s a film everyone will be proud of. “Anyone associated with Dhoom:3, however minuscule their part may be in the success, will take immense pride in the fact that the film is doing well and audiences have liked it,” he says.
So will he return for a fourth instalment? “I am sure if Adi Chopra (Aditya, producer) decides to cast us, it would be something to look forward to,” he says.
