Anurag Kashyap has written the dialogue for many films, including Lootera, Talaash (2012) and Kurbaan (2009). The film-maker has now created a niche for himself in the industry, not only as a director but also as an innovative writer.
Knowing this about Anurag, director Vinil Matthew asked for his help to write the dialogue for his next venture, Hasee Toh Phasee, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra.
When Vinil was writing the dialogue for the film, he wanted someone to add a bit of authentic north Indian lingo to it. It was then that he decided to get Anurag on board. “Anurag’s invaluable contribution to the script helped the film get its flavour and humour. I am immensely indebted to him,” says Vinil.
What’s more, Anurag has charged Vinil only a token sum of Rs. 1 for his contribution to the film. Ask him about the experience, and Anurag jokes, “Yes, I have co-written the dialogue with three other writers. And, Vinil has taken back that Rs. 1 too.”
