Last week, the actor got a chance to visit her alma mater to shoot for Anurag Kashyap’s next.

She tweeted, "Shot in Army PublicSchool for #BombayVelvet today . Was feeling nostalgic thinking about my school - APS Bangalore :) (sic)." Apart from her, several other actors have also returned to their schools, colleges and former homes and offices to shoot their films and promote them.

Shahid Kapoor
Destination: Mithibai College
The actor, who studied at the Vile Parle college, had gone back there as a part of a HT Café initiative on the occasion of Teacher’s Day last year. He was mobbed and chased throughout the college premises. However, the excited star didn’t complain even a bit. He even sat on the bench in a class, like the other students.

Imtiaz Ali
Destination: Hindu College, Delhi
When Imtiaz visited Hindu College in February, it was a homecoming of sorts for him. An alumnus of the college, Imtiaz spoke to the students with a lot of warmth and openness while promoting his film, Highway. He was greeted with loud cheers and a performance by Ibtida (the dramatics society of Hindu College). "Always tell your own stories, not those of others. I have a lot of expectation from Hindu," he had told the students.

Farhan Akhtar

Farhan went to his alma mater for a promotional event for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013). He had tweeted: "Went back to my school to unveil a ‘...Milkha’ cover notebook. Flooded with memories. Still smiling (sic)." The actor-film-maker had further written that "my school motto and Milkhaji’s philosophy are the same — There is no excellence without labour... So what better place to do this activity (sic)."

John Abraham
Destination: Jai Hind College
In February, the actor-producer graced the alumni reunion of his alma mater. He was invited as the chief guest for the college’s alumni reunion. "I am one of the blessed and proud Jai Hind-ites, who not only did his major in economics from Jai Hind, but like any other student, roamed around roads A and B. Today, being called here as a chief guest makes me really feel embarrassed," John had said.

Akshay Kumar, who spent his early years in old Delhi, returned there to shoot for Boss, last year. He shot in the Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk areas. The crew had a tough time managing the huge crowd. Recently, he also visited the kitchen of a Bangkok restaurant where he had worked when he was younger. His son, Aarav, and his niece accompanied him.
