Suddenly, Bollywood seems to be the buzzword among Hollywood actors, with many wishing to act in Hindi films at the first opportunity. Most recently, it’s Basic Instinct actor Sharon Stone who has expressed her desire to be part of Hindi films. But she is not the first to have said it lately...
The Twilight actor has been vocal about her desire to work in Bollywood films. Her preference for our desi superhero Hrithik Roshan had also infuriated her then boyfriend Robert Pattinson, but that’s another story. “If someone offers me a good script, I would love to work in a Bollywood film. I’d love to work with Hrithik Roshan ... he’s a wonderful actor,” she said.
Sharon Stone who is best known for her role in Basic Instinct is a fairly popular name in India.
In June this year, the Hollywood action star had hoped to get “good roles and not just action roles” in Indian films. In fact, he had also agreed to give desi producers a discount on his fee. “I would definitely want to do a Bollywood film!” he’d said, adding, “I love the music and dance sequences in Indian films. I can dance and sing. As long as I can get an exciting script, I’m even willing to give a discount (to Bollywood producers)!”
Hollywood hottie Kim Kardashian is no stranger to masala Bollywood films. She was sent a set of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan movies by a website, and after watching the potboilers, she said, “I want to work with both of them, but I'd like to work with Salman first.” She is also keen to show her dance moves perhaps in an item number!
The Basic Instinct stunner, who arrived in India about a week ago to inaugurate a health fundraiser, seems to be loving the country. She has said that she’d love to work in Bollywood. “I’d love to be in one of the Hindi movies and, of course, I have seen many Indian films. The language is different, but I like it," she said.
The Hollywood heartthrob has shown a strong interest in desi films. Here, it is interesting to note that the iconic film Troy, which brought him much critical acclaim, was also offered to Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as his co-star. The latter had reportedly turned down the offer. “I would love to work in a Bollywood film as there is so much drama and colour in the films there. Given a chance, I would like to work with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan because she's a versatile actor. I think we missed an opportunity to be cast together for Troy,” he had said.
