Argentine forward Lionel Messi runs for the ball during their 2011 Copa America quarter-final football match held at the Cementerio de Elefantes stadium in Santa Fe, 476 Km north of Buenos Aires.

The flags are out, jerseys ready and excitement among fans is at its peak as the world anxiously awaits the FIFA World Cup to kick off in Brazil tonight.

Our celebs, too, are all pumped up for the month-long football madness. We caught up with a few stars to find out their favourite players, the  teams they’re supporting or think will win, and the teams they believe are the underdogs this time. While actor Arshad Warsi is a huge supporter of the Dutch team, Amit Sadh and Tiger Shroff are fans of Brazil and Argentina respectively.

Our Bollywood ladies, too, have their eyes set on the players. A Lionel Messi fan, Prachi Desai will support Argentina. Bipasha Basu also plans to cheer for the team as well as for Spain. Above are some more celebrities talking about their hot favourites.

Sunil Chhetri
I think anyone between Brazil, Argentina and Germany can win. And, Uruguay and Belgium could be the underdogs.
Fav player: Lionel Messi, because he’s the best!

John Abraham
I’m going to put money on Germany, and some of it on Spain and Brazil too. But I think Belgium will be the underdog and make it to the quarter finals.
Fav player: Neymar Jr

Shoojit Sircar
It’s Brazil for me. Being a Bengali, I can either support them or Argentina (laughs). Belgium has some great talent and could be the underdogs.
Fav player: Messi

Abhay Deol
This time around, Brazil has a great squad and also home advantage! As for my favourite player, it has always been Ronaldinho, but it’ll be sad to not see him this year.

Saqib Salim
Brazil is my favourite, and home support can work for them. England can be the dark horse. Expect Wayne Rooney to do something special.
Fav player: Messi, the guy is a magician.
