They are not part of just horror stories anymore. Bhooths in Bollywood have evolved with films like Gang of Ghosts and Bhoothnath. On the eve of Bhoothnath Returns' release, we take a look at the good ghosts of Bollywood.

Amitabh Bachchan in Bhoothnath: There's a protocol for bhooths. They don't return after attaining moksha. But Bhoothnath will. Makers of Bhoothnath Returns have an explanation for the comeback of this lovable ghost. As long as he keeps helping kids, we are more than happy to have Kailash Nath reincarnate as Bhooth again and again.

Shah Rukh Khan in Paheli: He's not just a good human being, oops bhooth, but also knows how to woo his lady's heart. In Paheli, Shah Rukh Khan plays double role - son of the rich merchant and a ghost. No wonder, Rani Mukherji loses her heart to the pretatma. In the end, ghost wins, hero loses.

Shahid Kapoor in Vaah! Life Ho to Aisi:
Shahid Kapoor plays Aditya Verma in this film directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. He requests Yamraj (Sanjay Dutt) to send him back to Earth for saving his house from the clutches of an industrialist.

Kareena Kapoor in Talaash: Kareena Kapoor plays Rosie, an escort, who helps out Aamir Khan in resolving a murder mystery. Turns out, she is actually a ghost avenging her death. She not only saves Aamir Khan's life, but also helps him come to terms with his son's death.

Tara Sharma in Saaya:
Maya's ghost is following her husband Akash to tell him something. Maya dies in a bus accident, but it's only the half truth. She actually does not die in that accident. John doesn't know his wife has given birth to their daughter before dying.

Aishwarya Rai in Mohabbatein
: Mar bhi jaye pyaar wale, mit bhi jaayen yaar wale, zinda rehti hai unki mohabbatein. Aishwarya Rai plays Shah Rukh Khan's love interest in Mohabbatein. She gives away her life for love, but continues to be on her lover's side.

Naseeruddin Shah in Chamatkar: Last but not the least, who can forget Naseeruddin Shah, the goon-turned-lovable ghost in Chamatkar? He helps Shah Rukh Khan in every possible way and is his guardian angel.
