Back in 2009, former Miss Sri Lanka Jacqueline Fernandez’s Bollywood career kicked off alongside Riteish Deshmukh (in Aladin).
A year later, the on-screen pair was back with Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai (2010). Neither film made much of a mark at the box office.
Now, they will be hoping for better luck, with Jacqueline set to act with Riteish again, in critic-turned-director Karan Anshuman’s upcoming debut film that is being produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.

"Jacqueline is doing the film," confirms Sidhwani, but adds that the actors "won’t be paired opposite each other… (She) has a very special role" in this film.
Apart from Jacqueline and Riteish, a couple of other former on-screen pairs are also set to return.
Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan have earlier played husband and wife in the 2004 Abbas-Mustan-directed hit, Aitraaz (2004); Kareena also had a blink-and-miss appearance in Akshay’s 2012 hit, Rowdy Rathore.
Now, the actors will be seen together in an upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali production. Commenting on bringing Akshay and Kareena together, director Krish says, "It’s an added advantage, because, for the audiences, it (the pairing) has huge recall value."
About just having shot with them, he adds that “they had a great comfort level".
Even Irrfan Khan and Kangana Ranaut, who starred together in Anurag Basu’s Life… In A Metro (2007), will come together again in director Sujoy Ghosh’s next. "Kangana has grown and how. She has created a different and rare space for herself. At a time when people are focusing on looks and glamour, she is turning out to be an inspiration for others. It’s a great sign for the film industry," Irrfan told us in a recent interview.
He also confirmed that the two actors have been offered a romantic film by director Kabir Khan.
