In what seems to be a move to better promote Hollywood films in India, actors Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha will lend their voices to the Hindi dubbed version of the sequel to the animated film, Rio (2011). The actors will be the voices of the macaws Blu and Jewel respectively. The original English version have actors Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg voicing the characters.

Talking about the experience, Imran says, "The macaw is a complete delight on screen, and when I was approached for this part in the sequel, I readily agreed. Though I have always admired animations from a viewer's point of view, this time, I learnt about many fascinating elements that combine to make the final stellar film."

He adds that dubbing for an animation film is completely different from doing the same for a regular movie. "Animation is a whole new magical world; there are so many nuances that synergise beautifully. I had complete freedom to express various reactions through my voice, which is quite different from Bollywood, where we merely re-enact our dialogues shot previously. I also got a chance to sing a few lines for a party sequence; that was awesome," says Imran.
