recently worked with Ranveer Singh
and Arjun Kapoor
— both of whom are junior to her by years. After working with them and seeing her cousin Parineeti Chopra
making a name for herself in the industry, Priyanka feels that the new lot of actors is more aware than she was when she first ventured into Bollywood.
"The amount Ranveer and Arjun know, in spite of being just five and three films old, is a lot. Till I was at least four years into movies, I knew nothing. I was such a lost cause," says Priyanka
. The actor goes on to add that Ranveer and Arjun have made their debuts at later stages in their lives whereas she made hers when she was only 18. "That also made a difference and was one of the reasons why I was like a lost babe in the woods. Yet, I’m a quick learner," she says.
Priyanka has been observing her co-stars closely and is amazed by how much they know about cinema. "When I came into the movies, we didn’t have managers or people taking care of us. And I knew nobody. I was alone and even my family knew nothing about movies. We had just come to Mumbai," she says.
The actor feels that "The education of what cinema is, marketing, and even numbers (earnings)" are some factors that today's actors are aware of. She explains, "I still don't know numbers. It's very cool to see that the crop of actors that we've had in the last four or five years has been so much more protected and prepared. It's great because they get into the scheme of things quickly."
