Actor Zareen Khan has trashed reports that suggest that she took a dig at industry colleague Sonakshi Sinha for allegedly making it easily in Bollywood, inspite of being overweight, because of her dad (actor Shatrughan Sinha).

Zareen is also upset over rumours of her being sarcastic about actor Deepika Padukone’s (inset, far right) slim figure. "I have no idea where these stories cropped up from!" says an aghast Zareen. "I really like Sonakshi... we aren’t friends, but every time I met her, it’s been cordial... why would I take a dig at her?  On the contrary, I had said that curvaceous people like Vidya Balan and Sonakshi Sinha are an inspiration to many... they represent the ideal Indian figure. As for Deepika, I was asked if I’d want to be like her, to which I said ‘no’ because I’m comfortable in my own skin," she says.

"Yes, I did say that it’s easier for star kids in Bollywood because obviously their parents have been in the industry, but it’s not their fault that they are star kids, neither mine if I’m not," she adds.

The 27-year-old actor, who was seen in the Punjabi hit Jatt James Bond recently, was last seen in Bollywood in the romcom Housefull 2 (2013). "I’ve been busy with the post production of my films and I’ll start shooting for my next Bollywood project in October," says Zareen, who debuted alongside Salman Khan in Veer (2009). However, few people know that she wanted to be a doctor, but due to monetary constraints, she had to give up her dream.

Does she hold any regrets? "Not at all... when something is gone, I let it go. I don’t sit and brood over it. I am happy that single-handedly, I’m taking care of my family today... so what if I couldn’t be a doctor, I can pay for a good doctor now," she says.
