After playing underworld don Manya Surve in last year’s hit, Shootout At Wadala, John Abraham is set to turn gangster once again in film-maker Sanjay Gupta’s next.
And we’ve got to know that he will wear prosthetic make-up to look the part.
John Abraham plays the maverick gangster Manya Surve with elan in Sanjay Gupta's Shootout At Wadala.
According to reports, his character is based on a real-life gangster, and the film will depict the eventful trajectory of his life — from the time he was a vegetable vendor at 22 to when he became a smuggler and a gang-lord at the age of 45.
Since the real-life gangster underwent plastic surgery on his face to avoid getting caught by the police, John Abraham
will be required to wear prosthetic make-up to change his look.
"Sanjay is already in touch with a team (of prosthetic make-up artistes) from Los Angeles. In a week’s time, he will finalise the team that will start work on John’s look immediately because the film goes on floors in August," says an insider.
When contacted, Gupta says, "It’s (the film) going to be a huge challenge. Manya Surve gave a new directionto John’s career. Now the idea is to push the envelope further."
The film will also star Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee and Tusshar Kapoor, among others.
Earlier, we have seen interesting makeovers with actors like Amitabh Bachchan
(Paa), Hrithik Roshan
(Dhoom 2) and Kamal Haasan (Vishwaroopam and Dashavataram).
