Salman Khan couldn't have asked for a better, even bigger, Eidi this year. Much on the lines of Randeep Hooda's dialogue in Kick, where he says "Woh apni Eidi lene zaroor aayega," the Salman Khan-starrer is all set to rewrite box office records in the country.

With a net collection of Rs. 127.03 crore, the Sajid Nadiadwala directorial debut is now the biggest grosser of the year.

Kick, which also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Jacqueline Fernandes, Nargis Fakhri and Mithun Chakraborty, made record opening collections of Rs. 26,4 crore -- the highest this year. The numbers skyrocketed further on the weekend, recording an unprecedented Rs. 27.15 crore and Rs. 30.18 crore collections on Saturday and Sunday.

The windfall continued even into the beginning of the week: Owing to an extended weekend (Eid was celebrated on Monday and Tuesday), the film earned Rs. 14.41 crore on Monday and Rs. 28.89 crore on Tuesday at the domestic ticket windows.

The film has already toppled Akshay Kumar's Holiday, which collected Rs. 112.65 crore. Salman Khan's dampener released earlier this year -- Jai Ho -- follows on the third slot with Rs. 111 crore at the box office.

The film has also fared well at the overseas box office: It collected £ 464,743 (Rs 4.74 cr) over the weekend in UK alone. The numbers are equally impressive from other countries: It earned $340,000 (Rs 2.4 crore) in USA-Canada, and $ 272,000 (Rs 1.53 crore) in the UAE on Friday, the first day of its release. Reports suggest that the film made over $ 3 million (Rs 18 crore) overseas collections in the first three days of the release.

So far, only five films have crossed the benchmark of Rs. 100 crore this year -- Salman Khan's Jai Ho, Akshay Kumar's Holiday, Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor's 2States, and the Riteish Deshmukh-Sidharth Malhotra-Shraddha Kapoor-starrer EkVillain. Kick is the newest entrant to this elite club.

The film's impressive run doesn't end here. It ranks fourth on the all-time list of films entering Rs. 100 crore ever quickest. Dhoom:3 tops the list as it crossed the figure within three days, followed by Chennai Express (3.5 days) and Krrish 3 (four days).
