For quite some time now, Sunny Deol had been planning to launch his 22-year-old son, Karan, as an actor in Bollywood. In 2011, he mentioned that he was looking for an apt subject for his debut film. And although film-maker Anil Sharma had apparently expressed his willingness to direct Karan’s first film, we've now come to know that the project might not go on the floors in the near future.
"We keep thinking about so many ideas, but it takes time to confirm one. Karan’s launch will happen in due course. Whenever he has to be launched, he will be. I cannot give out any dates right now," says Sunny.
Currently, Sunny is focusing only on his directorial venture, Ghayal Returns, which is a sequel to Ghayal (1990). And this seems to be the reason why all his other projects, including Karan’s debut film, are on the back-burner. "At the moment, I am only concentrating on the film that I am directing. I am not discussing anything else. All the other projects are on standby and, as soon as I finish this, I will start doing other films," explains Sunny.
The sequel is in its scripting stage and it is unclear when the actor will start shooting for it. "I cannot reveal any tentative dates about when the film will go on the floors, but when I am ready with the script, I will announce it," he says.
