Bollywood’s item girl Rakhi Sawant, who is contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from the Mumbai North-West constituency through her newly created Rashtriya Aam Party, says she’s chosen a green chilli as her party symbol because it perfectly matches her personality. "Main bhi toh hari mirch jaisi teekhi hoon… mujhe kainchi ki bhi choice thi par maine mirchi choose ki (I am as spicy as a green chilli... Though I had a choice between scissors and green chilli, I chose the latter)," says Rakhi.

She claims that other candidates contesting from her constituency are already considering her a threat and hence wooing voters through unfair means. "Kamaal R Khan (KRK) ji ko achhi khasi Samajwadi Party ki ticket mili thi par unhone withdraw kar liya. Mere khade hone se achhe achhe darr gaye, aur itnaa darr gaye ki sabko rishwat de rahein hain (KRK was getting a Samajwadi Party ticket, but he withdrew. When I announced my candidature, even the best of the names got scared and now they are bribing people)," says Rakhi.
She adds, "Yesterday, they called me and threatened me that they will buy all the voters within 48 hours. Then they threw a daaru (liquor) party, distributed shirts-pants, chicken biryani and Rs. 1,000 notes to the poor… ab junta toh bechari gareeb hai, toh maine unko bola, ‘sabki daaru pee lo, biryani kha lo aur pant pehen lo, magar mohar sirf mirchi pe lagana’ (Poor public, I asked them to accept and enjoy all that was being offered to them by various such parties, but when it comes to voting, they should vote for me," she says.
