I am planning a road trip around Gujarat. Starting from Mount Abu in Rajasthan, we wish to cover all the important sites in Gujarat and definitely Kutch. There is no time constraint. Can you suggest an itinerary?
We have just returned from a driving holiday in Gujarat! We started from Mount Abu and drove to Patan and Modhera Sun Temple. Our first stop was at Devjibhais camp at the Wild Ass Sanctuary near Dhrangadra in the Little Rann. Then we reached Bhuj. Here we covered Mandvi, Lakhpat, Narayan Sarovar, Koteshwar, Kandla and Gandhidham. We spent a night at the Gateway to Rann Resort at Dhordo. We also visited Khavda and the India Bridge leading to Pakistan across the Great Rann of Kutch. From Bhuj, we drove to Jamnagar and spent time at the Khijadia Bird Sanctuary. We visited Dwarka and Porbander followed by Junagadh, Somnath, Sasan Gir and Diu. Then we drove down to Bhavnagar and the Black Buck National Park at Velavadar and Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary.
I am reaching Nainital on June 25 along with my family. Will I get a good economical hotel there or should I book in advance?
It will be one of the busiest periods to visit Nainital, so don’t expect anything economical. My suggestion is to book in advance. Secondly, you must decide on a budget. Otherwise, Hotel Grand (Rs 2-3K), Classic (Rs 3-4K) and Alka (Rs 5-6K) are good options and all are located on the Mall, which is an ideal location for you, since you are with family.
