Undeterred by her team’s initial failure, Shilpa Shetty blogs her heart out. Some excerpts...
After her team lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore: Yesterday was the first match of the season for us and
[people had] a lot of expectations from the Royals. We started off really well, bowled and fielded exceptionally, but don’t know what happened when we went out to bat! Anyway, there’s consolation in the fact that we lost the first game even last season and went on to win the championship, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed this time too.
After the match against Mumbai Indians was washed out: Woke up all excited today, looking forward to play, but the weather has been playing truant. I’ve realised winning in this format of the game has a lot to do with luck. Kings XI Punjab played well but Knight Riders won the match by the Duckworth Lewis calculation because it rained! It was heartening to see the Durban fans come out in such huge numbers and although I was sad to see disappointed fans but the turnout amazed me.
On the eve of her match with Shah Rukh Khan’s team: That will be a difficult one, not the match but the emotion… it’s terrible to play against a friend’s team but all’s fair in love and cricket, I guess...ha ha!
