Hollywood’s A-list couple — Russell Brand and Katy Perry — is gearing up for a big fat Indian wedding. And, they’re doing it with colour-coordinated dresses for the guests, and camels and elephants for the groom!
Brand, an established comedian and actor, and Perry, a renowned singer, got engaged in Jaipur last New Year’s Eve. According to a UK tabloid, they will tie the knot in India on October 23. The seven-day ceremony is expected to take place at a heritage hotel in Jaipur — probably the same place where Brand proposed to Perry. The two want all of their 85 guests, including pop-star Rihanna, to wear outfits of the same colour. "Guests would be wearing the same colour, but, so far, nobody knows what that colour is!" said a source close to the couple.
“The procession (will) start at the gate of the hotel, with the bridegroom sitting on a beautifully decorated horse that is escorted by camels and elephants,” celebrity gossip website, eonline.com, reported.
“Folk dancers will then welcome the couple with a traditional routine, fireworks and a special buggy ushering them into the main garden for the wedding,” it said.
After getting married in India, the couple will still need to have a civil ceremony in the US for their union to be recognised there.
