Singer Britney Spears’s stay in India has become a mystery for the Kerala police. For the past three days, they are going berserk over inquiries about her rumoured presence in the coastal state.
The last buzz about Spears in the media circuit was about her appearance on a houseboat in Alapuzzha. The police are clueless of any such happening, as the Toxic singer has not filed a mandatory document meant for foreigners.
A Akbar, Superintendent of Police, Alapuzzha reportedly said, “I did receive inquiries on Britney’s visit, but haven’t received any official intimation from any hotel or tour operator.” He added that, “Action would be initiated against the hotel for not intimating the arrival of a foreign tourist and failing to submit the mandatory Form C within 24 hours to the police.”
Tomy Pullikattil, who owns a fleet of houseboats on the Vembanad Lake, said he had been flooded with phone calls asking if the news was correct. “I must have received a 100 calls, even from abroad, asking if Britney is indeed visiting. Even the district collector called me to inquire if it was true,” said Pullikattil.
