George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis is said to have stormed out of their villa after being dumped by the actor, a friend of the Italian has claimed.
According to Us magazine, 32-year-old Canalis’ friend Alfonso Signorini revealed the news on an Italian TV program.
"From what I know it was him who dumped her and she stormed out of the villa," the New York Daily News Signorini as saying.
"I’ve tried to get her on the telephone but it’s switched off," he added.
The couple, who began dating in 2009, announced their break-up in a joint statement on Wednesday, claiming it "very difficult and very personal".
However, Signorini said the split surprised him, because things seemed "really well" between the two as recently last week.
Still, he acknowledged the couple had their issues - particularly because of Clooney’s worldwide fame.
“He is actually very fatherly but at the same time they did have a very complicated relationship. It’s not easy to be with a star of that calibre,” Signorini added.
