Aamir Khan’s upcoming film 3 Idiots — an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel Five Point Someone based on his student days at IIT Delhi — is set in a fictional engineering college here. As the film gets set for release, we do a round-up of some other campus capers set in the Delhi University.

Rang De Basanti - One of the most popular movies of recent times, this Aamir Khan starrer became a cult with the students. Specially its open jeep salute sequence in the song Ru Ba Ru shot at the India Gate. Much of the film was shot at India Habitat Centre.

Dil Dosti Etc - The movie depicted the Delhi University culture including the famous DUSU elections, considered a training ground for future politicians. Much of the movie was shot in the North Campus.

Lakshya - The first half of this Preity Zinta and Hrithik Roshan starrer portrayed lives of two typical Delhi University students — a khadi clad feminist who believes in what she does and a pampered son of a business man. A song in the film was shot in Tughlaqabad Fort.

Sarfarosh - The first half of this Sonali Bendre and Aamir Khan starrer was set in the Delhi University, where both are students. The major part of the film was shot in Ramjas College.
