Pop star Mariah Carey's life is to be turned into a Broadway musical and she wants British actress Leona Lewis to play her.
Mirror.co.uk quoted an insider as saying: "Carey's not sure if she'll star in it herself. If she doesn't, names being tossed around include High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens and Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria. But Carey secretly likes the idea of Leona Lewis playing her. Not only is she (Lewis) exotic, she's the only one who they reckon would be able to tackle Carey's eight-octave vocal range."<b1>
Carey, 39, has been discussing the projects for months now, but agreed to it only after her husband Nick Cannon agreed.
A spokesperson for Carey said: "She is in talks for a Broadway musical to be made about her life in 2009."
The show will feature some important moments from her life. Her infamous breakdown in 2001 might also be included in it.
