They may share a sizzling chemistry onscreen in their latest flick Chance Pe Dance, but actors Shahid Kapoor and Genelia D’Souza have one regret — the lack of rumours of a romance between the twooff-screen. Jokes Genelia, “He is not interested in me.” Shahid interrupts, “Genelia and I often catch up even when we are not working, so it’s really strange that how it has not happened in this particular case.”

Keeping mum
On a serious note, both feel that keeping mum is the best way to let these rumours die down. “Giving clarifications means adding fuel to thefire as things can be misinterpreted,” says Shahid.

“It is good to stay quiet as every rumour usually dies its own death,” adds Genelia. Clearing the air around news of her wedding with actor Riteish Deshmukh, she says, “He is just a good friend.”

All in good humour
Shahid laughs and butts in, “I was really upset after looking at the news because I thought you did not invite me. I would have done a performance for free.”

“Genelia is better friends with me though,” he adds, to which she responds, “Shahid is my favourite.”

Ask Shahid if he has any advice for those desperate for eight-pack abs, he says, “People shouldn’t strive hard to maintain eight packs as it’s like climbing Mount Everest. You may get there, but you would not want to live there for the rest of your life.”

As for his reported tiff with director Ken Ghosh, the actor evades the question with a joke. “We did fight a lot as Ken was insisting on casting himself when we were having an issue over finalising the heroine. But I refused, saying he’ll get the maximum limelight as he is too beautiful.” After much thought, the duo decided to cast Genelia. “I went and held her feet and begged her to not refuse!” he says.
