Celebs dance their way to money

Malaika will perform at the Sahara Star Hotel in Mumbai. "Talks are on. I will comment once things get finalised," she says. Sources say that Malaika, who is the most wanted from the film industry this year for her hit number, Munni Badnaam Hui, is charging Rs 2.5 crore for the hour-long performance.
While actor Bipasha Basu will also perform, the venue is yet to be confirmed. "Negotiations with two big properties in Mumbai are on. She has raised her fee to around Rs 2 crore this time," says a source. Celina Jaitly confirmed that she is set to rock the Capital with a performance at Country Club, for a reported fee of Rs 35 lakh.
"New Year’s is a time for both stars and organisers to make big money. Everyone tries to get the most popular stars. With Katrina Kaif’s Sheila Ki Jawaani turning out a hit, she will be approached by many," says Sonu Lakhwani of Wingman Talent Management.
It’s not just the babes who’re raking in the moolah. While actor Govinda will perform at Mumbai’s Country Club for around Rs 25 lakh, Vivek Oberoi has charged Rs 1 crore to perform in Dubai.
“It is all about an actor’s popularity, or the controversies around him or her. Jo dikhta hai, woh bikta hai,” says Shailender Singh of Percept Management.
Singer Sophie Choudry will be performing in Bangalore for a reported Rs 20 lakh, while singer Mika Singh is charging Rs 27 lakh. Actors Neha Dhupia, Yana Gupta and Sameera Reddy are also expected to perform at separate venues.
