Protests against Supreme Court’s ruling on gay laws continued over the weekend, with a ‘Global Rage Day Against Sec 377’ across major cities sweeping the scene.
Apart from Delhi, the protest was held simultaneously on Sunday in Ahmedabad, Berlin, Boston, Cambridge, Chennai, Gorakhpur, Hamburg, Johannesburg, Kolkata, London, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Mysore, New York, Pune, Richmond, Sydney, Toronto, Vancouver and Washington DC.
Prominent participants at different chapters of the march included celebrity activists such as actors Celina Jaitley and Nandita Das, sitarist Anoushka Shankar, writer Arundhati Roy, filmmaker Onir and gay rights campaigner Laxmi Tripathi.
“The right to choose your partner is not unnatural. Junk the politics and support the freedom to choose,” said actor Aditi Rao Hydari, who was also part of the event.
