Family members confirm superstar to merchandise T-shirt line. Close friends already been gifted personalised copies. Proceeds to go to Khan’s charity. Salman Khan gets dressed for a cause with his new T-shirt line, 'Being Human'.
Don’t let the glitz and glamour fool you; Bollywood does have a soul too. And when it comes to charity, few stars do it better than Salman Khan.
In an effort to promote his charitable endeavours, the good Samaritan has plans to open a T-shirt shop to retail his Being Human line.
We’ve already spotted the star in a number of different styles from long-sleeved shirts to fitted tees. “Salman has always been involved in a lot of charity efforts,” says his representative. “He has helped many people who are in need of funds for operations and other medical necessities. The idea for this line occurred as a method of funding his efforts.”
But don’t expect to get your hands on the charitable desgins any time soon. So far, only those close to the star have been seen sporting the T-shirts. The star’s brother Sohail and close friend Aamir Khan have both lent support to the line. Aamir’s grey T-shirt with a motif of Jesus Christ on the front will probably be a bestseller.
The girls haven’t been left out either. Katrina Kaif was photographed in a blue short-sleeved T-shirt. And if you’re not the type to flaunt, there are even accessories like a black cap with Being Human printed on the front.
“Salman is still in the process of finalising the merchandising and the quality of the T-shirts,” reveals brother Arbaaz Khan, who has also been generating publicity for the line by wearing the tees. “Although the family supports him and will definitely give our input whenever required, we aren’t actively involved.”
And Salman isn’t in any rush to reveal when he plans to debut the line either. The Khan khandan has been instructed not to reveal any information until the star is ready to make things public. “Everything is being handled by Salman’s sister Alvira. I believe he will make a formal announcement in August,” confirms his manager. “Until then, even I don’t have any information on the line.”
