Oscar-winning Hollywood star Colin Firth and his wife Livia were joined by Kristin Davis, Rooney Mara, Freida Pinto and Malaika Arora from Bollywood for the One Night to Change Lives charity event by Oxfam at the ongoing Dubai International Film Festival here.

As Oxfam's global ambassador, Firth said he had a long-standing relationship with the charity organisation. "It has been a long standing relationship and very meaningful. My mother actually worked with Oxfam... Dubai is very welcomingly familiar to me. I was here at DIFF in 2010 with my film King's Speech," Firth said.

Davis, most famous for her outing in Sex And The City TV series and movies, said she was happy to be in Dubai and would love to shoot a film here. "Oxfam fundraising is a legend now so it is very exciting to be here," said Davis, who was dressed in a stunning black gown.

Actress-producer Malaika Arora, who joined the Hollywood glitterati in a cream ruffled gown, said she was happy to represent Bollywood at the charity event. Mara, best known for her outing in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and Pinto, who was dressed in a red gown, also attended the charity event so did British filmmaker Michael Apted.

All proceeds from the exclusive gala dinner and high-end auction, featuring prizes donated by celebrity partners will go to the UAE based philanthropic organisation Dubai Cares and Oxfam.
