Director-duo Deepa Sahi and Ketan Mehta never had the time for a honeymoon due to their work commitments when they got married. It was only four years later that they went to Gaumukh in the Himalayas. That’s when Deepa decided that her first film would be shot there. And she fulfiled that promise with her directorial debut, Tere Mere Phere, which revolves around a honeymoon of her fictional characters.
Grins Deepa, “Having grown ups in a family with at least 35 women of different ages and their spouses, friends, sons, daughters, in–laws, I have been a keen observer of this most fascinating of all relationships — that between a man and a woman.”
“We all want to get married when we are in love. And when we do, there are arguments over the most illogical and trivial things. That is what I have tried to bring out through Tere Mere Phere. Marriage is a legit relationship in which all illegit things happen!”
