Mumbai may be Sachin Tendulkar’s hometown, but Delhi too has grand plans to celebrate the cricket champ’s birthday today. From special menus to discounts and cake-cutting ceremonies, city restaurants have come up with fun offers to ring in the Little Master’s 39th birthday.

Rajouri Garden restaurant Game of Legends will involve diners in a game called Know Sachin More. Guests will be asked 10 questions on Sachin, such as where is Sachin’s hometown, when did he complete his 100th ton etc. While two right answers will win a 5% discount, all right answers will win a flat 30% discount. “Sachin is the legend of cricket, so we decided to honour him,” says Amit Chauhan of the restaurant.

Since Sachin happens to be a seafood lover, Bromfy in GK I has come up with a special fish menu for the day at Rs 100 each.

24 Karat Khazana in Kirti Nagar too will serve Sachin’s favourite dishes, including fish curry and grilled fish steak, at a 15% discount. To honour his 39th birthday,

Qafe Pasha in Punjabi Bagh will offer a 39% discount on bills of Rs 4,000 and above, while Boombox Café in Khan Market is organising a grand cake-cutting ceremony.

“I am a big fan of Sachin, and I would definitely love to celebrate his birthday with my friends,” says Manish Kaul, a DU student.
