The IPL may have started, but Indian fans still can’t get over the World Cup win. Online retailers and flea markets such as Janpath and Sarojini Nagar are flooded with tees showing team India lifting the Cup, complete with victory slogans.

Online T-shirt company, Xtees, have created victory tees for Rs 300 each. “There is a great demand for tees with Dhoni and Sachin’s pictures with the trophy after the world cup. We registered 400 orders within just two days of the victory. We were the first to do this and others followed, but we never thought of copyrighting the concept,” says Manoj Vijayakumar of the company.

Immediately after the World Cup, we started getting requests for tees with slogans such as ‘We are the world champions’ and ‘Bleed Blue’,” says Arpana Priyadarshini of

T-shirts with sketches of cricketers Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni are bestsellers at flea markets. “These tees cost Rs 150 and we called for them only after the great demand after the World Cup,” says a shopkeeper who has a stall in Sarojini Nagar.

“Every day, at least five-six people come and ask for ‘World Cup’ tees. We have placed a bulk order for T-shirts in the price range of Rs 200-250,” says Navin Gupta, a shopkeeper at Janpath.
