The cover story in film magazine CineBlitz’s latest issue claims that Sallu got mad at Kat for wearing a figure-hugging, cleavage-revealing dress that showed too much skin.

The report has eyewitnesses recalling that he asked her why she was wearing it, and when she said it was the director’s call, he told her, “I’ll see your director”, following it with a string of loud abuses and a blow to Kat from a stick that was lying closeby. A frantic Kat apparently fled from the spot, locked herself up in her vanity van and sought help from actor Kareena Kapoor, who was shooting for Heroine a few blocks away. It was only after Kareena came and spoke to Sallu that Kat is said to have breathed a sigh of relief.

While both actors choose not to comment on the matter, Kat’s friends rubbish the reports and say it is only vested interest that has led to such a story.

“No such thing ever happened, and Kat is very hurt to hear of such false news. They share a healthy, happy bond and have put the past behind. Everytime Salman tastes success, someone is out to spoil his case,” says a close friend of Salman and Kat, wishing not to be named.

The film’s director, Kabir Khan says, “Please don’t expect me to comment on bulls**t.”

The magazine, however, stands its ground. “We have said what we wanted to in our story. I have no further comment on this,” says Nishi Prem, editor, CineBlitz.

In February 2008, Salman reportedly slapped Kat in a coffee shop. Onlookers said Kat did not react; she walked out.

In May 2008, while shooting for the film Yuvraaj with Katrina, Salman allegedly slapped her in her vanity van as he was miffed after seeing pictures of her with Akshay Kumar at an IPL match.

In September 2002, ex-lover Aishwarya Rai had alleged that Sallu was harassing her and had even had hit her.

While Salman was dating actor Somy Ali in the 90s, he had allegedly poured a bottle of cola on her head at a party, which resulted in their split.
