The Indian Premier League has turned Bollywood’s playfield, and it’s not just celebrity team owners on the scene. The latest to join the list of divas glamming up the cricket stands was Priyanka Chopra, 28, who cheered and punched the air as Kolkata Knight Riders battled Kings XI Punjab at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday.
Chopra, who sat with KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan in his B1 box, chatted with Khan animatedly throughout the course of the match. She wore a tight blue ganji top with the Knight Riders logo, and extremely distressed jeans. When KKR won, Chopra took to the field and played cheerleader, complete with shimmery golden-pink pompoms in her hands. Fans went berserk at the sight as PC was overheard repeating, “I love the pompoms!” Chopra is not the first diva to have spruced up the glam quotient at this year’s edition of the tournament. Those who’ve been spotted supporting their favourite teams and players at other matches include actors Deepika Padukone and Riya and Raima Sen, among others.
British actor and Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne’s rumoured girlfriend, Liz Hurley has also been seen locking lips with Warne in the stands more than once.
