Dubai is fast becoming the next hot location for filmmakers as more and more show interest in shooting their productions here, said Chairman of the Dubai International Filn Festival.
"The trend began with
a thriller starring George Clooney released in 2005 and Dubai is now on the map in Hollywood", said Chairman of the Dubai International Film Festival, Abdul Hamid Jume on Sunday.
"I am very confident we'll have a major Hollywood film shot in the Emirate in the next two years. We've already had a lot of interest", said Juma, who is also Deputy Director-General of Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority.
He said that the number of enquiries received at the Dubai festival and Dubai Studio City, which is the production complex being built next to Arabian Ranches stand was a proof of the Emirates' growing popularity among the producers.
Producers and directors were informed on the special arrangements in place for filming in Dubai and the location management department that will facilitate shoots, he said.
Juma said the recently announced location management co-operation agreement would also help to ease the path of camera crews.
