Think Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and think Dawood Ibrahim. The film which is loosely inspired by the life of the dreaded gangster wouldn't be complete without a mention of his estranged lady love, actress Mandakini who was allegedly linked to Ibrahim.
Not missing a chance to add a little more drama to her film, Ekta Kapoor along with director Milan Luthra decided to cast Amy Kingston who bears uncanny resemblance to Mandakini.
Obviously since Mandakini is on a self imposed exile and only surfaces to act and sing in her own music video, Kapoor had no other choice but to cast Amy.
Not wanting any legal problems, Kapoor and Luthra have ensured that Amy's role is not completely based on Mandakini's alleged involvement with Ibrahim. Kapoor also denied deliberate effort on their part to find a Mandikini look-alike and termed it as mere "coincidence".
A source told Mumbai Mirror, “Emraan whose role is on the lines of Dawood Ibrahim’s life, meets Amy. He cheats on his steady girlfriend Prachi Desai, befriends Amy and promises her that he would get her a crucial role in a big film. She has a song and two scenes.”
On the other hand, Amy said that she knew who Mandakini was but didn't think she looked like her at all.
Amy told the tabloid, “I will not go to my hometown Sydney until I see Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai. I am very excited about this role."
