Even after three months of its release Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, is still hogging the limelight for the wrong reasons. Earlier Haji Mastan's family members had objected to the film. As that storm got over, another controversy has gripped Balaji Telefilms.
Reportedly, Ekta Kapoor's production house Balaji Telefilms is being sued by Movie Tee Vee Enterprises copyright issues.
The company has alleged that the song - Duniya mein logo ko of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, is the remixed version of the super hit original from the film Apna Desh.
Kewal Suri of Movie Tee Vee Enterprises told Mumbai Mirror, "Yes, it is true and we are taking Balaji Telefilms to court. We have already sent the notices to them. It is our duty to ensure that we get what is rightfully ours. Balaji has told us that they have taken the rights from Sa Re Ga Ma, who is also at fault here.
"How can Sa Re Ga Ma assign the rights to remake the song? We were not aware that our song was being used in the film, when it was under production. The legal notices have now been sent," he added.
Ekta Kapoor said, "I really have no idea but Balaji has a strong legal department that will look into this. The film released three months ago so I think it's too late for them to react. It might be a lapse on their part but the legal department will sort it out."
