Ekta's next film to be a comedy again

entertainment Updated: Apr 13, 2007 14:45 IST

Although Ektaa Kapoor has joined hands with Sanjay Gupta to make several projects, she’ll also continue to produce movies under her own banner. The latest news is that she has roped in Sachin Yardi, one of the writers of Kya Kool Hai Hum, to direct her next project.

Previously, Ektaa has given a break to directors like Anurag Basu, Anil V Kumar (Kucch To Hai), Santaram Varma (Krishna Kottage) and Partho Mitra (Koi Aap Sa). Although all of them began their association by directing soaps for Kapoor, Yardi is the only one who didn’t do a serial for her.

No prizes for guessing who will be the lead..it’s her brother Tusshar Kapoor.

“Though the project is untitled, we plan to start the shoot after the monsoon,” says Tusshar.

The heroine is yet to be finalised.

However, Anupam Kher and Rajpal Yadav have been signed on.

When asked about the film’s subject, Kapoor clammed up, “It’s a fun film. That’s all I can reveal at the moment.”

Apart from this home production, Kapoor is also gungho about Rohit Shetty’s sequel to Golmaal, scheduled to begin this November. Then there is the sequel of Kya Kool Hai Hum.

Both the sequels will topline Kapoor. However, talk is that they will feature different heroines.
