Vintage champagne, caviar to snack on, acts by acrobats and even lounge beds — Delhi is set to bring in the New Year with a bang, and an expensive bang at that!
At the Jynxxx bar and club in Nehru Place, couples will be able to lounge on beds as the clock strikes 12 on the 31st. Just that it would set you back by Rs 25,000— 1,00,000. “There are cushy beds in the lounge, which overlook the entire club. For Rs 1 lakh, you’ll get unlimited Dom Pérignon champagne, besides various cuisines and other liquors. The Rs 50,000 pass gets you unlimited Moet & Chandon champagne,”says Mohit Jain, the club’s owner.
If you think that is through the roof, at Noida’s Quantum club, couples will have to shell out almost half a lakh just to get into the VVIP lounge. “A table there will cost anywhere between Rs 40,000—60,000. This includes snacks such as caviar and scallops, a high-end main course, expensive liquor, and even an exclusive butler for the night,” says the club’s spokesperson.
LAP in Hotel Samrat is in the over-the-top-indulgence race, too. “We have a line-up of 5-6 DJs for the night. We’ll also have a special raffle with prizes, including a LAP membership worth a few lakhs,” says the club’s spokesperson.
Till last year, New Year’s eve parties at the 5-star hotels in Delhi attracted the richie-rich and commanded hefty price tags. But now stand-alone restaurants are vying for their share of the pie, too. “We’re doing a carnival theme, which includes live acts like flame throwers, saxophonist and acrobats. There’s a 5-course meal with each ticket, so the cost of Rs 14,000 per couple is pretty justified,” says Wasiqa Soni of Circa 1193 in Mehrauli.
At Gurgaon’s Kingdom of Dreams, there will be 8 simultaneous parties, which will see world famous magician Franz Harary and singer Sonu Niigaam perform. A party planned at Gurgaon’s Tau Devi Lal stadium, featuring DJ, Matt Darey and with 20,000 revellers is being tipped as India’s biggest New Year’s eve bash.
Clubbing ain’t cheap
