Falguni Pathak

Sankalp, an organisation that holds Mumbai’s biggest dandiya events will focus on the youth this year. The reason being Falguni Pathak, who has been playing with Sankalp since 1994 has decided to perform in Gujarat this time. Rahul Vaidya has been brought on board. The other entrant in the marquee is Sangita Labadiya who performed for Ismail Darbar in a Surat Navratri, who was recently awarded the Jhaverchand Meghani Award by the Gujarat government. Then there is Yashita Sharma, the first runner up of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2009. She has previously worked with Pritam and musicians Shankar Ehsaan Loy.

Says Devendra Joshi, president, Sankalp, “The youth are a huge part of Mumbai’s dandiya celebration. This is the reason we are getting in new singers who are more famous with the younger generation.”
