On the eve of her 50th birthday on January 8 (Thursday), Farah Khan hosted a lavish bash at her Lokhandwala residence, which had several Bollywood A-listers in attendance. Unfortunately, the filmmaker had a run-in with the cops later that night.
She threw a grand party on the terrace of her residential building, Oberoi Sky Heights, in suburban Andheri to celebrate her 50th birthday.
The party was attended by several B-Town celebrities, including Abhishek Bachchan, his wife Aishwarya, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Sonam Kapoor, Gauri Khan, Vidya Balan and Kangana Ranaut, among others.
A source tells us, “The party, was raided after locals complained to the police.”
The choreographer-turned-director, whose Diwali release Happy New Year, was a blockbuster, turned 50 on Friday.
Confirming the news, Subash Vele, senior police inspector at Oshiwara police station said, “The police control room received a call from a local resident around 12.30 am, complaining about loud music being played. A team of police officials from Oshiwara police visited the place, and found that they did not have the required permission to play the music. They were asked to stop playing the music and a fine of Rs 5,000 was levied.”
"We slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on the event organiser for playing loud music and thereby disturbing peace in a residential area. At the same time, the organiser used loud-speakers without taking prior permission. Hence, we stopped the party," the officer said.
We tried contacting Farah, but she was unavailable for a comment.
