Bollywood and TV actors share with us how they celebrated Karva Chauth yesterday
Actor Juhi Babbar, who married TV actor Anup Soni, says, “I was really looking forward to my first Karva Chauth. My mother-in-law sent my Sargi from Delhi a day before. Since I had worn a churidaar kurta for my wedding, my parents insisted that I wear a sari on Karva Chauth. So, I decided to wear a red benarsi silk sari. Though I hate mehendi, I put it on for this special occasion. My entire family had got together to wish me on my first Karva Chauth.
Actor Eesha Koppikhar, who kept her second Karva Chauth fast this year, says, “Karva Chauth is one way of showing love to your partner. I do it for myself and for the well being, prosperity and longevity of my hubby. I was thrilled that my in-laws and parents were both there at this Karva Chauth. I like everything about this tradition. It is so nice to wear a bright-coloured saree, mangalsutra, mehndi, sindoor, chuda (bangles). It is more like dressing up for a marriage and I love it.”
Rashmi, who is married to TV actor Nandish Sandhu, says, “I was very excited, as this was my first Karva Chauth. My mother told me about all the traditions of Karva Chauth. So, I got up up early for the Sargi and worked till afternoon. Then, I left for celebrating the festival in Jaipur, where my family stays. As we had a very simple and quick wedding, we will be having a traditional wedding with all the ceremonies next year. So, my Karva Chauth next year will be a grander affair.
