Abhishek Bachchan has always been a huge football fan, professing his love for the Chelsea Football Club on Twitter at every chance he gets. He has also been part of many football matches, for fun and charity, like Playing For Humanity and the All Stars Football Club. A sports channel has been regularly advertising how junior Bachchan will be part of their UEFA Champions League 2013 final coverage.

Now, we hear that the actor will be watching the grand finale at Wembley, London on May 25 with veteran cricketer Kapil Dev and Bollywood producer Bunty Walia. Bunty confirms the development, saying, “Abhishek and I will be travelling to London to attend the final. We look forward to the experience and like most football enthusiasts we are extremely excited to be a part of the madness at Wembley.”

A source says, “Abhishek is thrilled to attend such a huge sporting event. He will not only be able to watch the match live, but also interact with the players when they practice.” The final will be played between German football clubs Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

Time and again, Abhishek has come forward to support football. “He has professed numerous times that he would love to see India play in the football World Cup finals, and that though we have talent to excel, we lack the infrastructure and support for the game,” the source adds.
