Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto, who captivated international audiences with her role as the damsel in distress, Latika, has now been featured in a 50s-style pin-up shot for life style magazine Vanity Fair.

The 24-year-old Mumbai native will be seen wearing a halter blouse, shorts and red lipstick while holding up a globe in the March edition of the magazine.
Freida was part of a photo shoot that features actresses on the rise in Hollywood.
The actress told the magazine that she had become obsessed with her role while auditioning for the film in Mumbai.
“Danny said that when he first saw me on tape he pretty much knew he was going to cast me, but we needed to go through auditioning to be sure.
“So it took me six months of auditioning to get the part. By the fourth month I started getting obsessed with the role. Every time I met my friends I would read lines from the script,” said the model turned actress.
She recently won the best actress trophy at the Elle Style Awards.
Earlier, Freida revealed that she had a huge crush on Leonardo DiCaprio and had fantasised about him after watching him in Titanic. She however said that, that crush has now turned to admiration with time.
