Actress Freida Pinto says she had a terrifying brush with a suicide bomber while filming a TV show in Afghanistan.
Before finding fame with her role in multi-Oscar winning 2008 movie Slumdog Millionaire, the Indian beauty was a presenter on Zee TV's travel show Full Circle.
She headed to Afghanistan in 2006 for a report on the region's tourism hotspots - but was left shaken when she had to flee a street after a suicide bomber was spotted in a nearby car, reported Esquire magazine.
"We were on our way to one of the temples in Kabul, and we saw these people standing around, staring at this car, their arms folded. They calmly asked us to go the other way... The guy said, 'You see that little red car? There's a suicide bomber in that car, and it's going to go off anytime.'
"He was so matter-of-fact... It was so sad. No one even knew who (the bomber) was. I don't know if there was an explosion. We left the scene," said Pinto.
