From Mumbai to Dubai

Dubai is the new Goa for Bollywood stars. The land of sun and sand seems to be the favourite choice of the who’s who of tinsel down for this New Year Weekend. And, incidentally, arch rivals Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will be in the Gulf city at around the same time.

Shah Rukh Khan is said to be hosting a bash at his palatial villa at The Palm Jumeirah, along with his wife Gauri and children, Aryan and Suhana. Best friends Karan Johar, Hrithik and Sussanne Roshan along with their kids, Hrehaan and Hridaan, also flew out on Sunday evening. Other close friends Zayed Khan, Kajal Anand and Chunky and Bhavna Pandey, too, are said to be joining them at the New Year party.

Salman’s family — including his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail and their wives Malaika Arora and Seema — flew off to Dubai on Sunday morning to celebrate the actor's 45th birthday. There, they will be joined by buddies Sajid and Wardha Nadiadwala, David and Laali Dhawan.

If the starry presence in the Emirates is any indication to go by, it seems to have nudged out Goa — the favourite spot with most B-town denizens until last year. This year, actors Akshay Kumar, his wife Twinkle Khanna, Sharman Joshi and Prateik Babbar are among the few stars heading to Goa to bring in the New Year.
