This one will surely make daddy proud. Actor Rishi Kapoor was honoured by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation in Moscow on November 11. Incidentally, his father Raj Kapoor was also conferred with the same honour 23 years ago.
Presented in association with the NGO Routes 2 Roots, the award is for Kapoor’s contribution to Indian cinema. Talking to HT City, Rishi said, “I don’t believe in awards that much, but I could not ignore this one because Russia recognised my dad’s work long ago... and now its my turn. It feels great.”
“Though, I am the second one from my family to receive the award, I never felt any need to tell my family about it,” he further added.
At the moment, the actor is busy shooting for his film Do Dooni Chaar with wife Neetu Kapoor. However, he’s not keen to talk about it just yet. “I will talk about my film with Neetu, but later,” is all he says. Asked to comment on reports of his son Ranbir Kapoor’s link up actress Katrina Kaif, he retorts, “I don’t want to say anything about it. Right now, it’s about me and the honour I have received.”
