“It was tough for us and our families initially, but we have realised there is no point brooding over it. The matter is sub-judice and I can’t comment on it, all I will say is that we have faith in the judiciary and the truth will come out for everyone to see,” says the Aashiqui 2 singer.

If it wasn’t for his family and the music frat, it may have been difficult for him to overcome the dark days, he says. “Without them, it would have been even tougher. Their unflinching support has given me and my family the strength to strive for truth,” he says, adding, “I come from a middle-class family and our values are very strong, if I were wrong my parents would be the first to slap me.”
Despite the controversy, he has managed to keep his career going fine. The 24-year-old singer is now riding high on the success of his song Galliyan, from Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra’s next. “I am happy that people have loved this song. It has become so popular that the makers have decided to make a video of the single, and they plan to feature me in it.”
