Tomorrow is the anniversary of Delhi’s second gay pride parade, which was held in 2009. It is also almost a year when Delhi High Court legalised gay sex.

Obviously, the gay nightlife has become more uninhibited in the city. Some of the places, which now openly organise weekly nights for gay people, are: Cibo (Wednesdays or Saturdays) in Hotel Janpath; ai (not regularly) in MGF Metropolitan Mall, Saket; Pegs & Pints (Tuesdays) in Chanakyapuri; and Baci (Tuesdays) at the Sundar Nagar Market.

Gay activist Mohnish Malhotra says, “I have held many parties in the past for the community, exclusively in many nightclubs and pubs in Delhi, and it’s touching to know that we have a place to go where we’re accepted the way we are.”

Apart from the night joints, the park above Palika Bazaar parking in Connaught Place is a popular meeting place for the city’s gay community.
