Genelia stumbles in high heels, smiles
Genelia D'Souza was visibly struggling to maintain her balance while walking at a recent event. However, the 24-year-old did not admit her pain even when we asked her if her stylist should have known better. “Not at all,” she repeated five times.
Thursday was a day of tumble and stumble for actor Genelia Deshmukh.
First, organisers of the event that she was to attend in the city, said that she was running late as she was to be present at actor Rajesh Khanna’s funeral in Mumbai, even though she was not spotted there. And then, she arrived more than three hours late stumbling her way in high heels. She was visibly struggling to maintain her balance while walking. However, the 24-year-old did not admit her pain even when we asked her if her stylist should have known better. “Not at all,” she repeated five times.
Genelia, who tied the knot with actor Riteish Deshmukh in February, says that not much has changed after marriage. “There is nothing drastic as such. It’s just that instead of Ms. Genelia, I’m Mrs. Genelia now.”
With just two movies in hand — It’s My life that has been in the cans for more than three years and Rock The Shaadi, the actor doesn’t have anything in her kitty — which is another stumbling block. But, she doesn’t mind. “I’ve just come out of a hectic 10 years, so I’m saving my time,” she said.
Bollywood is not known to be too kind to married actors. However, that doesn’t scare her. “That’s something that people have a misconception about. Look at Chitrangda. Her career is blooming post marriage. There’s Aishwarya Rai and a lot of them, who’ve been married and are still working.”
But of course, she agrees ad endorsements are a different deal as she now appears to be losing out on them. “Your category changes. It’s about whether you are relatable or not.”
